Vidisha Garg

Vidisha Garg is a partner at Anand and Anand. Vidisha has been actively involved in the field of Patents for the last sixteen years. Vidisha has dual post graduate degree in Organic Chemistry and Law from University of Lucknow. She was also actively involved in research in the field of Synthetic Organic Chemistry and has authored research papers in journals of international repute. She was also a recipient of the TIFAC (DST, Government of India) Scholarship for training in IPR.

Thereafter, she became a patent agent in 2004 and joined Anand and Anand and since then has been involved in patent prosecution and contentious practice of the firm. In a span of about sixteen years, she has represented her clients in several pre grant and post grant patent opposition matters. Vidisha also handles patent revocation matters before IPAB. She was involved in the Tykerb revocation matter, India’s first NCE revocation case. Her practice areas also include providing opinions and strategies on patent laws in India, drafting of patent specifications, patent searches, validity, patentability, and infringement opinions. She also advises her clients on issues relating to protection of national biodiversity. She has been the author of articles in various publications such as Managing Intellectual Property, WIPR and LSIPR, etc.

A Note for Members
The AIPPI members are advised that the membership will be from 1st January to 31st December every year. The Membership is conferred on individual basis and should be renewed every year. Please further note that in case the member does not renew the membership, the membership would be deactivated. However, if the member wishes to re-join on a later date, the member will have to pay the arrears before activation of his/her AIPPI Membership Account.

Membership Fee for Junior Member / Young Member / Corporate Member (In-House Counsel, etc.) (member who is 36 years of age or below): Rs. 12,500/- (Rupees Twelve Thousand Five Hundred only)

Membership Fee for Regular Member: Rs. 25,000/- (Rupees Twenty-Five Thousand only)

Members to pay membership fee latest by March 30 of each year, failing which the member’s name would be removed from the rolls of the AIPPI membership and additional 100% of the amount of the membership fee would be applicable for reinstatement of the same.

Any Member who wishes to reinstate the membership for attending the Annual AIPPI Congress should make the application along with complete fee payment latest by July 31. If this deadline is not met, consideration of reinstatement would be made only after conclusion of the Congress for that particular year.

Any New Member should make an application for membership at least 1 month in advance of the AIPPI Congress scheduled for that particular year, if the person wants to attend the Congress for that year. Else, the membership application will be processed only after conclusion of the Congress.

If there is any change in the contact/communication details of a member, the member is requested to inform such change to the President and the Treasurer at the earliest.
